Mondello



 Another throwback to our Sicilian holidays for Christmas.


We went to Mondello to take family photos.
And photos we took.

Well, I was taking photos. The others were playing with the ball, digging sand, walking along the sea, talking, having clothes malfunction and doing other fun things.

I am convinced that the easiest way to photograph more than two children together is to pile them one on top of the other. Cause this way they cannot escape :-)
As you can see, the family photo session was quite productive.
The sunset also did not disappoint.

Tentsmuir forest

We do not roam the woods oft enough. We like beaches, true - all year around. We live 10 min walk away from one. Still it's not an excuse enough to ignore the woods, something to work on. We finally made it to Tentsmuir on a crisp October day. We roamed the dunes, ended up on the beach (again :-), and made our way back to the trees. It was full of autumn smells, yellow leaves, mushrooms, golden trees and the quiet.   It was full of tree climbing, treasure hunting, stick collecting and stick walking, mushroom watching, path running, log walking and all the fun.  To be continued - for I made too many nice photos to squeeze in one post :-)

It's that time of the year - family photographer in St Andrews

It's that time of the year - bright spots of colour are appearing on the trees, morning school runs call for warmer scarves and jackets, and shops start taking out their Christmas goodies. Soon our walks will include making crowns of leaves and collecting the biggest and brightest ones for the flower press. This season is the sunset of the year, time to reflect on how it was and what's happened and what you want to take with you in the future. A worthy moment to document with beautiful photographs in the bright colourful framework of autumn. Photographs that celebrate you, your family, your love and connection. Photographs showing you relaxed, playing or walking outside, laughing together. That focus on you and your story, and make it shine because of their simplicity and intimacy. Sunset

I realized that it is my first post in 2016. With holidays, travels, settling back, school and all the daily routine there was no time, or no energy, or not enough coffee (and never enough excuses :-) I am reconsidering my photo editing process, which is part of the reason too why I've been reluctant to process the whole sessions I was photographing, and post them. Once they are posted, it is done and I am still not happy and still searching for some little something to improve my editing. On the other hand, till something is out - it is like not yet finished and blocks me from doing something new. Instagram is easier in this regard, as it goes one photo at a time. I am posting more regularly there - @yuliapagano , should you be curious :-) Some sunset races and football, taken during a walk to the beach shortly after we came back home. Matteo became a fan of silhouette photos, so we might produce more :-)

A new beginning

It's spring, everything is coming back to life. It's time of new beginnings. So it will be also a new beginning for this blog. I will be posting my favourites from my customers' sessions, and also some of my personal work. So you can get a better idea what a family, or baby, or newborn session with me would be like. Picnic, races and shenanigans

It has started with family picnic at St Andrews Cathedral (we already had one photo shoot here). Then some random seagull wanted to join. Then we did some flower picking, crawling, running, and kissing. Then came races, and shenanigans. Some participants did not take the start command seriously. And some daddy moment :-)
