Her. And my personal photo challenge for 2017.

This was our special photo project for 2017, hers and mine.
We were supposed to do a portrait a week.

It was interesting, useful and a challenge in more than one way. Some weeks we did more, than we had weeks of doing nothing. Sometimes we both were excited, later we both hated it -  each of us for different reasons. Yet we are proud with results. Here are my favourites, and some of them I am getting printed. Quite large :-)

3 reasons to have your family photos in Villa Giulia park

Villa Giulia is a park in historic center of Palermo. It has its origins in 18th century and is remarkable for its perfect square shape with diagonal alleys dividing the park in different sections. Marble statues and fountains, a sundial, shady alleys and open spaces, and wide variety of trees and shrubbery make it a popular spot both with locals and tourists.  If you'd like your family photos to have lush green background with a touch of special Sicilian atmosphere, this park definitely should be considered. It ticks all the boxes - plenty of space, nice surroundings, easy access, lots of options for things to do during your photo shoot to get natural and emotional images (anyway we don't do posed photos on the benches or next to flowering shrubs!).  Here are my top 3 reasons why villa Giulia is a great location for family photo sessions. Outdoor baby photo session in St Andrews | East Sands and St Andrews Cathedral

Preparation As both parents are history lovers and always try to visit and explore historic places when travelling, St Andrews Cathedral seemed to be an obvious location choice, followed by a quick trip to East Sands beach and the pier, so that we had more diversity in the scenery. We spoke on the phone to sort out all the details to plan the session so that it's also enjoyable for them and manageable with their little baby girl. I was a bit worried to have an outdoor photo session in winter with such a young baby (she was about 2 months old when we did the photos), but she did so well! She liked our time on the beach much more than the Cathedral ruins, probably because we walked more there and she could sleep cuddled in her mommy's or daddy's arms. The weather's been a gift too, we had a lovely warm day which did not feel like winter at all and beautiful golden sunlight. Family photoshoot | Fife Coastal path, St Andrews

Here's a beautiful throwback to last summer, when we went for a walk on Coastal with adorable baby Sam. Summer sun makes beautiful days, but is often too strong for nice photos - we waited for a cloudy day and planned for an early afternoon so that there's no conflict with meals or nap time. I try to be as flexible as possible with babies and do the photo session around their eating and sleeping routine. Long summer days help a lot here. Family photos on St Andrews|Fife Coastal path It's a great short walk that provides a lot of diverse backgrounds for photos - the path itself with greenery around, nice small beaches which are usually empty. This was the first professional photoshoot for Sam, and he did so well! His outfit was perfect - granddad shirt with seagulls pattern was especially fitting for the beach. I luoghi migliori a Palermo per fotografare la tua famiglia

Ville storiche e parchi di Palermo Dove faremo la nostra sessione fotografica è una delle domande più frequenti che ricevo dai miei clienti. Da un lato, è bello farlo in un luogo che abbia una qualche importanza e significato per voi, come un parco che frequentate, dove tuo figlio ha un posto preferito per nascondersi o il suo 'albero da scalare. Ma forse stai cercando qualcosa di nuovo, perchè il vostro parco preferito è chiuso per lavori di manutenzione o semplicemente non è adatto come location per uno shooting fotografico perché è piccolo o presenta altri problemi. Tentsmuir forest

We do not roam the woods oft enough. We like beaches, true - all year around. We live 10 min walk away from one. Still it's not an excuse enough to ignore the woods, something to work on. We finally made it to Tentsmuir on a crisp October day. We roamed the dunes, ended up on the beach (again :-), and made our way back to the trees. It was full of autumn smells, yellow leaves, mushrooms, golden trees and the quiet.   It was full of tree climbing, treasure hunting, stick collecting and stick walking, mushroom watching, path running, log walking and all the fun.  To be continued - for I made too many nice photos to squeeze in one post :-)

When autumn rains leaves and sunshine

October is full of these gorgeous days, when the sky is clear blue and the world is full of autumn wonder. On such a day, being in the forest is like being showered in leaves and sunshine. Enjoy it while it's here, it rarely goes long without raining in Scotland :-)

Beach fun / Family photographer in St-Andrews

Beach is fun all year around. And we had the cutest little explorer. We went to Maiden rock beach for this family session, just a short walk from East Sands. And we had lots of rocks to explore, shells to collect and sand to play, and driftwood tree to climb. This girl and her flyaway hair!  Here are some more of my favourites from this session.
