Forest

Back from holidays. There was a city, a forest, a river, and a sea. There were friends and family we did not see for a while. Sun, sand, waves, mosquitoes, barbeques, ice-creams. Shorts, sandals and dresses. 
And some 16 gig of photos to sort through :-)

Buono regalo per un servizio fotografico

Sta arrivando Natale, e tutti cerchiamo i migliori regali per i nostri cari. Se stai cercando un regalo veramente particolare, cosa ne pensi di un buono regalo per un servizio fotografico ? Sand castles on East Sands

First barefoot beach day (we do not really count those short runs on the sand in February, right :-) Really and seriously, with feet dipping and running on the water - this one is the first. First sand castle of the season. First sand fight of the season and first hand full of sand - this, and sand in the pockets, will stay with us well till November. And I truly do not mind, I love my barefoot beach days as much as these two. Matteo is building a bunker - tunnel covered with sticks and sea-weed, then with sand. Good camouflage, it was hardly different from the rest of the surface around the castle. He tested it after completing the construction - the structure resisted his weight and survived. One very proud engineer. We tried to build the moat too - it did not really work, water was too far. So it was abandoned after a short while. Maya was collecting small rocks and shells to decorate the walls and the big tower. They both carried big rocks to reinforce the wall...

Autumn family photos in St Andrews - Lade Braes and Botanic Gardens

Majority of my photo-sessions lately are outside, and involve gorgeous details of autumn. My style of outdoor photography and use of natural details seems to work especially well here. It's my favourite season, after all :-). Katie wanted to have photoshoot for her family in a place that's special for them - Lade Braes. It's their favourite place to visit, play and explore - where kids can be silly and run around, laugh and play with sticks. Being autumn and in Scotland, we were only partly lucky - half way through it started to rain. So we continued next week-end in Botanic Gardens. This venue was our backup plan in case it rains again - we could escape to the glass houses! Fortunately, it was not needed. And fortunately we had this second venue - kids had even more opportunities to run around and be silly and play outside among gorgeous colours of autumn. I luoghi migliori a Palermo per fotografare la tua famiglia

Ville storiche e parchi di Palermo Dove faremo la nostra sessione fotografica è una delle domande più frequenti che ricevo dai miei clienti. Da un lato, è bello farlo in un luogo che abbia una qualche importanza e significato per voi, come un parco che frequentate, dove tuo figlio ha un posto preferito per nascondersi o il suo 'albero da scalare. Ma forse stai cercando qualcosa di nuovo, perchè il vostro parco preferito è chiuso per lavori di manutenzione o semplicemente non è adatto come location per uno shooting fotografico perché è piccolo o presenta altri problemi. Quando si sceglie una location per le foto di famiglia, ci sono diverse cose da considerare: quanto è grande il luogo, se offre diversità di sfondi e possibili attività, ma anche quanto sia facile da raggiungere, o va evitato in alcuni orari perchè troppo affollato. Photo a day - September

  Published on 24th of October 2023 These past weeks I've been reflecting a lot about my photo a day project, that I am doing for almost 3 years already, I started a few months before Mara was born. There are days when it feels too much and I have no inspiration and energy to pick up the camera. And then there are moments when I see my kids playing, a new trick or game or mess they are up to, a spot with beautiful light, an interesting combination of colours, and I want to take a photo. I've decided to go easy with this, with myself in the first place, because there's no creativity when you are exhausted and feel forced, and the photos show it. But I try to make time and space for this creativity, it's something my soul craves. And when I look back, all the things I've discovered and mastered, tried and experimented with, all the energy and ideas and feedback, it's amazing. The force is strong with this one

This project has been brewing since a while. We even wanted to write down the ideas, cause Matteo had more of them than fingers on one hand :-) Finally the combination of sunset, being at the right location at the right time, plus the mood was all in place. So yeah, the force is strong with this one. We were rewarded with golden light and pretty sky. The playground nearby destroyed our plans for more silhouette photos. So more might come, if Matteo wants to implement his ideas. For now, this is what we have, plus lots of pretty sky, and sea, and golden cowlick :-)

Outdoor baby photo session in St Andrews | East Sands and St Andrews Cathedral

Preparation As both parents are history lovers and always try to visit and explore historic places when travelling, St Andrews Cathedral seemed to be an obvious location choice, followed by a quick trip to East Sands beach and the pier, so that we had more diversity in the scenery. We spoke on the phone to sort out all the details to plan the session so that it's also enjoyable for them and manageable with their little baby girl. I was a bit worried to have an outdoor photo session in winter with such a young baby (she was about 2 months old when we did the photos), but she did so well! She liked our time on the beach much more than the Cathedral ruins, probably because we walked more there and she could sleep cuddled in her mommy's or daddy's arms. The weather's been a gift too, we had a lovely warm day which did not feel like winter at all and beautiful golden sunlight. Family photo session in villa Trabia

This session was a special treat for grandfather, 3 generations of the family were involved! I photographed this family before, so preparation and all the discussions before the shoot were easy and smooth. We picked villa Trabia as our venue, because of its easy to reach location, little distances to walk, diversity of backgrounds and last but not least - gorgeous marble benches. In fact, we started the shoot on this bench and we ended it there too! The session took place in April around Easter time, so there was plenty of green around us and it was not too hot, perfect weather to be outside. During preparation consultation it was decided that we do some photos with more quiet activity, as reading or talking, because it is difficult for the grandfather to walk big distances. And then with the younger part of the family we explore a bit around the park. We started at the beautiful marble bench and did some reading, chatting and hugging photos there. Fife Coastal Path

Our first walk of the year. Stomping through the mud, and lots of it. Some of us did even manage a bit of mud sliding. The sea had this surreal turquoise color, along with grey moody sky it was beautiful. Lots of dry grass, sticks and bushes, thorns. We did not go down to the beaches, it was too muddy and slippery for it. Next time.
