We made it. The book-eating stage is gone, and all the gorgeous printed products are now safe from the person with just two teeth, still able to wreck lots of havoc. Well, almost safe :-)

Villa Giulia is a park in historic center of Palermo. It has its origins in 18th century and is remarkable for its perfect square shape with diagonal alleys dividing the park in different sections. Marble statues and fountains, a sundial, shady alleys and open spaces, and wide variety of trees and shrubbery make it a popular spot both with locals and tourists.  If you'd like your family photos to have lush green background with a touch of special Sicilian atmosphere, this park definitely should be considered. Family photo session in villa Trabia

This session was a special treat for grandfather, 3 generations of the family were involved! I photographed this family before, so preparation and all the discussions before the shoot were easy and smooth. We picked villa Trabia as our venue, because of its easy to reach location, little distances to walk, diversity of backgrounds and last but not least - gorgeous marble benches. In fact, we started the shoot on this bench and we ended it there too! The session took place in April around Easter time, so there was plenty of green around us and it was not too hot, perfect weather to be outside. During preparation consultation it was decided that we do some photos with more quiet activity, as reading or talking, because it is difficult for the grandfather to walk big distances. And then with the younger part of the family we explore a bit around the park. We started at the beautiful marble bench and did some reading, chatting and hugging photos there. Photo a day - May

Published on 15th of June 2023     It's June, school's over, and summer is finally here. It's a bit late this year, but I am not complaining, heat is not my thing. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike summer! I am looking forward to spend days (and evenings, because - sunset!) on the beach swimming and splashing and digging in the sand, and all the fruit and summer salads, ice-cream and long evenings on the terrace. It's the heat that I have problem with, my brain just switches off and all I want is to find a cool corner under air conditioning and hide there with the book.  We've finally started our photo wall. The project was complicated - we wanted a photo and art wall that tells about us, that reminds of Scotland, and has each of the kids equally represented (they checked!). Come si svolge una sessione fotografica

Oggi vi faccio vedere qualcosa di diverso. Cosa succede dietro la macchina fotografica e come si svolge una sessione fotografica con i bambini. Ho avuto l'aiuto di 4 bellissimi bambini, e tutto si è svolto a Capo Gallo (lato Mondello). Prima dello shooting abbiamo avuto una piccola chiacchierata con i genitori per prepararci, per discutere come si svolgeranno le cose, quale abbigliamento indossare e cosa piace fare ai loro bambini all'aperto. Quindi avevamo già un’idea delle loro attività preferite, in più ho preparato anche alcune idee per giochi. Sinceramente, ero un po' nervosa, soprattutto per le possibili difficoltà di comunicazione e di lingua. Il mio italiano è abbastanza buono per quanto riguarda la conversazione, la scrittura è il problema - ma una sessione fotografica è sempre un'esperienza impegnativa ed emozionante quando devi tenere sotto controllo tutto ciò che sta accadendo, se tutti stanno bene e si stanno divertendo, se tutto procede bene per ottenere d...

In search of snow / Family Photographer in St.Andrews

We did not have much snow this winter. We usually do not get much snow here at all, which may be surprising considering how far up north we are. But the truth is, winters in St Andrews are mild. We wanted some snow adventure and real winter experience, even as a short break. This desire took us to Glenshee. It was beginning of March, but we were lucky to find some snow patches, good enough for sledges. And small snowman. And snowballs. And of course snow lollipops. Result - some hours of driving and a bit getting lost, even with navigator - or despite :-) Couple of children who got car sick. Fair amount of fighting over how three children share two sledges. Couple hours of fun on the slopes. Five pairs of soaked shoes and socks. And this true sportswoman, who bravely pulled sledge up the slope for the next ride. All on her own. Outdoor family portraits on the beach - summer in Scotland

I love small beaches off Coastal Path, just a short walk from East Sands, and I used them a number of times already for family photo sessions. There are barely other people here, so you have the whole space to yourself. No need to worry about your kids getting a bit wild and disturbing the others, or that you have to wait and check that nobody else gets in accidentally in your family photos. There is also beautiful variety of natural textures and backgrounds - sand, water and rocks, greenery of the path on the way to the beach.  This family shoot was the last one in 'baby's first year package' we did with Francina and her twins, Lily and Elanor. As we already knew each other, and the kids were comfortable with me too - no ice-breaking was needed. In fact, we started taking photos already on the way to the beach!
