Italian travels - part 1. Sirmione and Verona

Here's some from our Italian trip, cannot believe it's been almost a month ago now! January always seems to last forever with short days, winter bugs and shortage of sunshine. We also had some major house renovation project thrown into the mix. So yes, it's been a long month. These are from Sirmione and Verona. A bit of towers and rooftops, random street photography, churches, frescoes, columns and arches. Sirmione is a lovely little town that is perfect to explore on foot if you succeed in finding parking. Our main destination was a museum with the ruins of the Roman villa, Grotte di Catullo. Even though named after Catullus, the villa actually did not belong to him. It's only believed to belong to his extended family. We spent some time wandering around and exploring the ruins, soaking in the sun among the olive trees.
